Jennifer Ricklin

Venture Partner, Technology


Dr. Jennifer Ricklin is a Venture Partner in the Technology Practice of RIDGE-LANE LP.

Dr. Ricklin served as Chief Technology Officer for the Air Force Research Laboratory’s $5.2B technology portfolio, with responsibility for providing strategic vision and guidance for a workforce of 10,200 scientists and engineers.

Prior to, she was Chief Scientist & Director of the Homeland Security Advanced Research Projects Agency (HSARPA), where she initiated a restructuring of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security R&D portfolio to more efficiently address threat & risk assessments for the homeland security enterprise.  She also served as a Program Manager, Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), and as a Senior Adviser to the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Research & Engineering, where she assisted in founding the Defense Innovation Unit Experimental (DIUx).

Dr. Ricklin serves on the Board of Directors of SPIE - the International Society for Optics and Photonics, and the Air Force Science Advisory Board. She earned a B.S. in Physics, a M.S. in Electrical Engineering, and a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Johns Hopkins University.  She is certified by the Army Acquisition Corps for Level 3 Program Management.
