Bill Tai is a Board Member of the Société L’Avenir at RIDGE-LANE LP.

Mr. Tai co-founded Treasure Data (acquired by ARM/Softbank) and is currently Chairman of the Board of Directors. He is among the first investors in Canva, Color Genomics, Safety Culture, Tweetdeck (acquired by Twitter), Wish.com and Zoom Video Communications (ZM).

He is also the founding Chairman & CEO of iAsiaWorks (IPO via Goldman Sachs & Morgan Stanley) and Founding Chairman of IPinfusion (Tokyo:4813). He has served as Board Director of 8 publicly listed companies: AWRD, EGHT, HUT8, IAWK, NPIX, TMTA, TUNE and IMGO, which grew from startups he funded at their formative stages.

Mr. Tai led the establishment of Charles River Ventures’ silicon valley presence as a General Partner, now serving as Partner Emeritus. CRV was founded to commercialize technology from M.I.T. and is one of the country's oldest venture capital firms, with early investments in MCI, Continental Cablevision, Amgen, Twitter, Yammer, and Zendesk.

He was an early employee at LSI Logic, a seminal Silicon Valley startup formed by the CEO of Fairchild Semiconductor, and was issued Badge #A001 during the formation of TSMC (NYSE:TSM), now among the 20 most valuable technology companies in the world.

Mr. Tai has served as a Committee Member for Technology Pioneers at the World Economic Forum and is co-founder of ACTAI Global a 501(c)3 dedicated to preserving the ocean and its related ecosystems. He earned a BSEE from University of Illinois and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
