Lew Tucker is a Senior Advisor in the Information Technology Practice at RIDGE-LANE LP.

Lew is currently Corporate Vice President and CTO of Cloud Computing at Cisco Systems, Inc., where for the past 8 years he has been responsible for developing technologies and products for cloud computing, machine learning, and AI.  He is a frequent speaker advising enterprises as they transition their IT infrastructure to a multi-cloud world.

Mr. Tucker was a Vice President of Engineering at Salesforce.com where he created the AppExchange, an application marketplace, to allow the company to expand its ecosystem and potential for the SaaS platform into new vertical areas.  While at Sun Microsystems, he served as Vice President of Internet Services and was an early executive helping to form the JavaSoft business unit of the company.

Mr. Tucker was director of advanced development at Thinking Machines Corporation, an early pioneer in massively parallel supercomputing, and entered the technology world after nearly a decade working in Neurobiology at Cornell University Medical College.

Mr. Tucker holds a Ph.D. in computer science from New York University, and a B.A. in biology from Cornell University.  He serves on the board of directors of the OpenStack Foundation, the Cloud Native Computing Foundation and is a scientific advisor to the Qatar Computing Research Institute.
